Equality, diversity and inclusion training - recruitment and promotions panels
15 Feb 2021
From Monday, 15 February 2021 it will be the responsibility of all colleagues who are part of promotion and staff recruitment panels to ensure they have completed two online equality, diversity and inclusion training sessions
The courses take around an hour each to complete and are:
Once you have completed the sessions your training record will be updated, however it may take a few days for these to appear on your online training record as the system updates once a week. You should also let the chair of the promotions/recruitment panel you are part of know that you have completed the training.
Mehrunnisa Lalani, Interim Head of the University’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team said: “It is the responsibility of chairs and members of staff recruitment and promotions panel to make sure they have completed this training and this approach needs to be consistent across the whole University.
“We are placing the emphasis on personal responsibility as we want all colleagues to make sure they have the knowledge and skills to be able to recruit fairly.”
If you’re unsure whether you’ve completed the training in the past three years you can view your training record at My Manchester – just click on My Training under the Learning category.
If you manage colleagues who don’t regularly access a computer as part of their work you should email equalityanddiversity@manchester.ac.uk who will be able to advise how best to complete the courses.
