Enhanced COVID community testing - Moss Side, Hulme, Whalley Range, Fallowfield

10 Feb 2021

Public Health England have found a small number of cases of the COVID variant first found in Kent in parts of Manchester, and so a community testing programme has been put in place across key areas of Manchester this week

There are extra testing sites in the Moss Side, Whalley Range, Fallowfield and Hulme areas. Street teams will be knocking on doors to ask people over the age of 16 who live in postcode areas M14 4, M14 7, M15 5, M15 6, M16 7, M16 8 to take a COVID-19 test.

If you live in one of those areas you should take part in the new programme, not the University-run programme. You don’t need to isolate while you wait for results from this programme. You only need to isolate if you have symptoms or if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

There is no change to the safety procedures for studying or working on campus.

You can find more information about this enhanced testing programme, including a full list of the affected postcodes on the Manchester City Council website.

As the national lockdown is still in place, it’s really important that everybody continues to follow the government rules to keep us all safe. Read the latest national lockdown guidance.

  • COVID-19 testing continues to be available on campus, with two free tests available per week at our on-campus testing centres. If you are self-isolating or have tested positive, then please use our form to let us know.
