Widening Participation - how much do you know?

Take our survey so we can better understand WP knowledge
Widening participation is firmly embedded into how we run our University and a key ambition for teaching, learning and the student experience is for there to be no barriers for studying and no boundaries for learning. As part of our Widening Participation work we target prospective students that are currently under-represented in higher education, starting from primary school aged pupils, continuing throughout secondary school and college/sixth form, and then whilst they are studying at university.
In order to achieve our WP goals, we require staff from across the University to work together, but we know that both awareness and understanding of WP can vary hugely throughout the University. The central WP team are therefore in the process of developing a standardised training that will be offered to all staff at the University, to showcase what WP is, why we do the work we do, and how colleagues from across our University can work to support WP students, regardless of their role.
We want staff, whether your role is or isn't linked to WP, to complete our short survey to allow us to establish the current level of understanding across our University, and allow us to develop a training session that will best suit the needs of its audience.
The survey is anonymous, and should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The deadline for completion is Wednesday, 17 February.
Once you have completed it, send this on to staff within your team, school, department or faculty, and encourage all staff, no matter what their role, to complete this survey.
