Payroll giving success
Giving Tuesday 2020 on 1st December was about encouraging giving back to the charities who have supported us, our families and our communities throughout the pandemic. During the past 12 months your donations via our Payroll Giving Scheme has been exceptional with over £141,219.31 being donated to great causes. This is a phenomenal amount, particularly during such difficult times.
Thank you for all your giving
Save the Children were one of the many charities who have shared their thanks for all your amazing support. "We’re really grateful to the staff at the University of Manchester for their support. Save the Children’s work is only possible thanks to our supporters in the UK and their amazing commitment to make the world a better place for children. Together with the University of Manchester’s support we’re determined to help every child become who they want to be.”
Local charity the Booth Centre also shared a video of thanks (see below). The Booth Centre is a community centre run with and for people affected by homelessness. Their programme includes activities such as volunteering, creative projects and sports, as well as training and help to gain employment. They also support people to improve health and wellbeing, to access emergency accommodation, and to secure and maintain a permanent home.
More messages of thanks are available including personalised videos, letters and certificates from charities such as Wood Street Mission, Shelter, Oxfam, Cancer Research UK, Dogs Trust, Emmeline’s Pantry foodbank and many more.
