Be a Carbon Crusher this October
13 Oct 2020
Chance to win £300 of cycling gear or donate to a clean air charity of your choice
With transport accounting for 28% of the UK's carbon emissions and 70% of journeys under five miles made by car, the little actions we take, like getting from A to B by bike, could make a big difference to the future of our planet.
The University has a whole host of help and resources available to get you cycling including help with purchasing a bike on the Cycle to Work Scheme, training to build your confidence and a support group of other cyclists who can answer questions and even show you the best routes.
Join Love to Ride this October and be a Carbon Crusher by replacing a motorised transport trip with a bike ride. You could win one of two £300 vouchers to spend on gear and accessories to keep you cycling or donate to a clean air charity of your choice.
How to win
- Share a story Did you plan a ride for Clean Air Day (Thurs 8 October)? Have you started riding to work instead of driving? Or maybe you've cycled to do your weekly shop. Share your story in the Carbon Crusher category and Love to Ride will pick a winner on Wednesday, 21 October.
- Enjoy a ride for transport. Log your transport trip to see how much carbon you have saved. Winner announced Monday, 2 November.
