07 Oct 2020

Learn more about Teams and ask questions in this one hour orientation event, 10.30am to 11.30am on Thursday 8 October.

A person teaching an audience

To support the adoption of Teams, colleagues in IT Services have organised another large scale online event, scheduled to take place from 10.30am to 11.30am on Thursday 8 October. Designed to be an introduction to Teams and how to make the most of it, the focus will be on showing you how to make calls, organise meetings, and use the chat and collaboration features. You'll also be able to ask questions by typing them in a chat box.

To join the event simply click the event link below at the appropriate time – there’s no need to book in advance.

Unable to make the event? You can now watch a recording of one of the earlier orientation sessions, at a time that suits you:

Staff and postgraduate research students seeking more information about Teams – including guidance, support and FAQs – should visit the Teams microsite:

External access to Teams is enabled. This means that people outside our University can join meetings or chats if they also have Teams and their organisation allows it. Guest access to Teams is currently not enabled. This means that you cannot add people outside our organisation to a Team, and you cannot share files with them. In addition, colleagues are not able to create their own Teams, but there is a request process in place.

Teams is also available to undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, and they can be directed to the IT Services website for help and support information:

If you have questions about Teams, why not ask one of the Technology Champions via the Microsoft 365 Yammer group:
