New guidance and resources to support staff in teaching and assessment design

Support for teaching and assessment in upcoming academic year on the Institute of Teaching and Learning website
A number of resources to support teaching and assessment for the upcoming academic year have been developed in collaboration with staff across the University, and these have been brought together on the Institute of Teaching and Learning (ITL) website.
ITL has been working with the Online and Blended Learning (OBL) Assessment Group on guidance to support staff in developing online assessments, and has published OBL Assessment core principles, an Online Assessment Matrix (which contains a summary of approved, inclusive online assessment types) and a corresponding OBL Assessment Toolkit.
These are provided to inform assessment design choices and have been produced to complement existing Faculty guidance. These will be updated as we move forward, and are offered to support staff at different stages of the assessment design process.
It is important that all of our online teaching content is fully accessible to all of our students. To support you in transitioning your teaching and learning online and ensuring that your content is accessible, we have produced a Making accessible teaching content toolkit with guides covering different types of content (such as PDFs, video and PowerPoint) and to help you to test your content.
The new Contract Cheating Toolkit aims to raise staff awareness about contract cheating as a form of academic malpractice and offer ways to combat this, including guidance on assessment design and messaging to students.
Queries on these resources and suggestions of what else could be included in them to further support staff can be sent to:
