Staff and students are invited to attend this year's Irene Manton Lecture: 'Metamorphosis: a 300 year story of intrepid women, rainforests and butterflies'

The Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health is delighted to co-host the Irene Manton lecture once again with The Linnean Society.

The lecture will take place online on this year on Thursday, 3 December 2020, 5.00pm - 7.00pm and will be delivered by Eleanor Drinkwater, PhD student at the University of York.

Entitled 'Metamorphosis: a 300 year story of intrepid women, rainforests and butterflies', Eleanor’s talk will highlight the scientific contributions of Maria Sibylla Merian and other women in science.

Now in its sixth year, this lecture is run in partnership with the Linnean Society. The lecture celebrates the significant contribution made by women to the Natural Sciences and aims to inspire and inform everyone in contemporary biology and botany.

This is a free public event and is open to everyone with sixth form students particularly welcome.
