Activation of Blackboard spaces via My Courses (My Manchester)

There is currently an issue with My Courses retrieving information from Blackboard and with links to Blackboard course units.

A temporary fix has been applied to allow course unit activations to take place, however there are some limitations to the fix as detailed below.

Course units that have already been activated are unaffected by this fix.

Before activating a Blackboard course unit space we advise you login and check to see if it has already been activated. You will know your unit has been activated if it appears on your Blackboard homepage courses list.

If your course is not activated it can be done so via My Courses. After activating your Blackboard course unit, My Courses will continue to say your course is 'pending activation' even after it is live on Blackboard. Course spaces can take up to 24 hours to become available in Blackboard after you have finished the activation process.

To verify that your course has been activated please check your Blackboard course list allowing 24 hours for activation.

Please do not use any hyperlinks to Blackboard courses from within My Courses, instead access Blackboard and find your course from the Blackboard homepage courses list.

A more permanent fix will be implemented to My Courses before Semester 2 course activations are required.
