RaW Big Saturday at The Manchester Museum

Free interactive storytelling and crafts on Saturday 27 January 2007

Drop into The Manchester Museum on Oxford Road on Saturday 27 January (11am-4pm) for a day of free interactive storytelling and crafts in the special BBC Storymaker Theatre, where stories are brought to life with puppets, sound effects, props and lighting. Climb into the 12ft square hexagonal box of delights and once the curtains are drawn around you, let the show begin. Actor Ben Faulks will take you to the Land of Dreams where kids meet a very special Genie, who takes them on an adventure up the Land of Dreams. Expect Magic Carpet rides, bizarre adventures and an exhilarating journey! Bring the story of The Magic Porridge Pot alive by adding your own ideas and by creating a magical patchwork, with the help of puppets.

As well as the BBC Storymaker Theatre, there will be interactive storytelling sessions with Gina Perry, object handling and Royal College of Music workshops in the galleries.

Just drop in on the day and book on the next available storytelling session. Sessions will run from 11am to 4pm (last session starting at 3.30pm) in the Discovery Centre. The BBC Storymaker Theatre is suitable for 3-5 year olds and can hold up to eight adults and eight children in each session.  Storytelling sessions with Gina are suitable for all ages and can hold up to 30 people (including adults) in each session.
