Dear colleagues,

On Monday, 3 August we held the latest of our weekly negotiating meetings with the campus trade unions. These meetings focus on the proposed measures our University needs to take to ensure we deliver our core goals, given the threats to our financial sustainability which have been exacerbated by the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The discussions continued on proposed permanent changes to the Redeployment Policy and Pay Protection Policy, and should they be required. We also discussed pausing increments and a mandatory pay reduction.

The minutes from the negotiating meeting held on Monday, 27 July 2020 were agreed and you can read these on StaffNet. The next negotiating meeting will take place on Monday, 17 August 2020.

In the spirit of open and transparent communication, we will be publishing the minutes from both our weekly negotiating meeting with the trade unions and a further weekly COVID-19 update meeting which takes place with the trade unions each Wednesday.
