Film celebrates our professional services achievements during lockdown
It’s nearly four months since lockdown began and to mark this milestone a film has been put together highlighting the many and varied achievements of our Professional Services (PS) colleagues who have been working from home and those who have remained on campus providing essential services.
The film was given its premiere at the PS Leaders Conference which took place virtually via Zoom on Thursday, 16 July.
Around 150 PS leaders gathered at the event to reflect on working during lockdown with breakout sessions to give the opportunity to share lessons learned, challenges faced and discuss what work might be like when we return to campus.
There were also sessions from Ian Pettigrew focussing on the importance of reliance and wellbeing and Jackie le Fevre who gave an insightful view on how our values have come to life during lockdown and how they will need to continue to influence our leadership and decision making in the future.
Patrick Hackett, Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer reflected on the day by saying: “The work of our PS colleagues has been truly amazing during lockdown and today was a chance to recognise our achievements, thank colleagues and reflect on what we have learnt.
“I’ll be honest, it’s also been very hard at times and we know there are uncertain times ahead and difficult decisions to be made, so it’s important we take time to support each other as a community.
“We all now need to make sure that we take some time off over the summer and come back refreshed to start the new academic year.”
There’s a chance for all staff to contribute their experiences of working through lockdown by taking part in the What works? survey – the findings will be used to help shape the way we work as and when we return to campus.
