Returning to campus guidelines published

17 Jul 2020

All staff who are able to work from home should continue to do so until at least 1 September 2020

John Owens

Dear colleagues,

As we approach the new academic year, you may be preparing to return to campus.

As per my earlier message, all staff who are able to work from home should continue to do so until at least 1 September 2020. However, we have been reopening certain parts of the University to allow staff who cannot work from home to continue their work, where it is safe to do so.

Any managers who are now preparing for some, or all of their team to return to campus, must meet a requirements, in order to ensure the safety of all staff and students.

Guidance for managers including a flowchart of steps to follow and various resources have now been published and shared with managers. These support documents are split into Lab workspaces and Non-lab workspaces.

We expect that there will be further guidance as other activities are planned. Please ensure that you and your teams download the current relevant forms every time you need them, as they are subject to frequent amendments and changing guidance.

If staff have any questions, or concerns about returning to work, they should raise them with their line manager or HR partner. If questions and concerns cannot be resolved by their line manager or HR Partner, they can send a question to coronavirus-info@manchester.ac.uk. This email is monitored by a number of University staff who will endeavour to answer the question directly, or pass it on to someone who can.

Best wishes,

Nalin Thakkar

Vice-President for Social Responsibility and Chair of the Campus Re-opening and Corporate Support group.
