Information for colleagues involved in recruiting staff
At the moment, the majority of staff recruitment is paused with the rare exception of strategic appointments which require the approval of the Registrar, Secretary and Chief Operating Officer for Professional Services role or Dean for Faculty roles.
Those roles which are currently being advertised are moving to selection and appointment as usual and colleagues involved in recruiting staff will notice some changes to our online recruitment system.
You’ll find it easier to navigate Jobtrain thanks to a new quick links menu, and this short video shows how you can move candidates between the different stages of the recruitment process, as well as being able to see each stage from application to shortlisting to interview on one screen.
This is part of ongoing work to improve the recruitment experience for both University colleagues involved in recruiting staff and potential candidates applying for roles.
At a later date more new features will be introduced to make it easier to request references online. Colleagues in the Directorate of HR are also looking at introducing anonymous shortlisting to support our University’s equality, diversity and inclusion commitments.
All of this is aimed at helping us to attract, recruit and retain the very best people as outlined in the Our People, Our Values theme of the University’s new strategic plan – Our future.
In the meantime you can access and use Jobtrain as usual using your existing username and password. Please continue to let the Recruitment team in HR Services know when you have completed shortlisting so they can advise unsuccessful candidates in a timely way.
