We have updated the following question in the coronavirus research FAQ:
What has been decided about submission to REF2021?
Research England recently confirmed that the REF2021 deadline for all aspects of the submission will be 31 March 2021.
In addition, the impact assessment period has been extended to 31 December 2020. However please note this does NOT need to be applied to all Impact Case Studies, particularly where they are already finalised. The purpose of this extension is to enable Impact Case Studies that have been delayed by COVID-19 to be prepared and assessed in REF2021.
A further consultation is being carried out to address other aspects of the REF return (eg. the deadline for Impact Case Study evidence and redaction), with final decisions expected from Research England by 31 July 2020.
The University will work closely with Unit of Assessment teams to adapt our work plan. We will provide an updated timeline as soon as possible.
