Many of you may be looking in the future to change the way you travel to work from public transport to walking or cycling. The University has a Cycle to Work Scheme that enables you to simply choose a bike from over 2,000 retailers, hire it for 12 months from Cyclescheme via salary exchange payments that help you save 25-39% on a new bike for work, then when your Hire Agreement and salary exchange ends, you can keep your Cyclescheme package by making a small additional payment back to Cyclescheme.

Our scheme limit is £2,820 (in line with Season Ticket Loans) that supports staff being able to access electric bikes mobility bikes, higher quality bikes and safety equipment.  Under the rules of the scheme, you should use the cycle to get to work for at least 50% of the cycle’s usage. This can be for part of the journey, eg. to a train station. In the interim you can use if for leisure and exercise to look after your physical wellbeing. The full eligibility criteria and how to apply can all be found on our Cycle to Work pages.
