Photography competition winners to be announced at Volunteer of the Year Awards
29 Apr 2020
After a week of voting, the Social Justice Photography Competition has come to a close
We received 5,960 votes from students, staff and the public in this year’s Social Justice Photography Competition. The winners will be announced at the Volunteer of the Year Awards which you can watch on the Volunteering Facebook page on Thursday, 7 May (1pm).
Undergraduate students were invited to take part in the competition by submitting a photo and caption about an issue of social justice that is important to them. The top five photographs, which were shortlisted from over 40 entries by a panel of judges, were then put to a public vote on Facebook and Instagram.
The competition promotes the Social Justice Challenge, an online activity for second year undergraduates, which covers a range of topics such as homelessness and mental health, through to higher education. Please encourage second year students to take part in the Social Justice Challenge.
Thank you to everyone who voted and helped to promote the competition. View the shortlisted entries.
