New season at the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama.
15 Jan 2008
A diverse and exciting programme begins on 24 January.
A new semester has just begun and our new brochure is about to be issued - packed full of diverse and exciting events including two visits from the BBC Philharmonic Chamber; a new batch of Literature Live events, including authors Hanif Kureishi, Clare Wigfall and Helen Dunmore, among many others; Quatuor Danel continue their season of free lunchtime concerts; and the University of Manchester Drama Society present their production of 1984 in March.
Our first events of the season are the FREE lunchtime concert on 24 January from Quatuor Danel, part of the Walter Carroll series, followed by a very special day-long tribute on 25 January - extraVAGANZA for the University's distinguished retiring Professor - John Casken, featuring Psappha, New Music Ensemble, Richard Casey and Ian Buckle and Quator Danel, who will be playing John Casken's first string quartet of 1981 alongside the world premiere of his recent cycle of violin and piano pieces.
