Staff Benefits and Wellbeing Update
20 Feb 2020
Be a part of the University’s Purple Wave, save on travel including lodges and boating breaks with Hoseasons, plus physio and food savings!
The Great Manchester Run is the largest 10K in the UK consisting of around 25,000 participants each year. For the past 4 years, the University has hosted its very own purple wave. On Sunday 24th May 2020, we will again be entering the country’s biggest Higher Education team, so come and run, walk or jog with us and be part of the #purplewave. If you aren’t a confident runner, have a disability or want to be part of a group, you can still experience the event and the atmosphere. Last year the walking and wheelchair group had a fantastic time and were accompanied along the way by the MCRStrollers.
Discounted rates will be available for all students, staff and alumni who enter through us. Discover more Purple Wave information from our Sport Office about the run, how to raise money for the Re-write Cancer Appeal and training plans or you can simply sign up now!
The Manchester Movement Unit at Birley Fields also has additional physio and sports massage offers for anyone taking part in the Purple Wave!
As well as our fantastic Food on Campus facilities where you can save 10% each time when paying with your Staff ID card if you’ve registered with FoodinAdvance, you can also access savings at restaurants on University Green.
The Home Services UniDiscounts have ways to save with award winning Emerald Life Insurance, RAC, will writing, Hotpoint and car repairs. Our ever popular travel UniDscounts include Hilton, Forest Holidays, Coastal Treats, Cottages.com, and the great spring sale is now on with Hoseasons plus their low deposit has been reduced to just £25! There are currently deals on lodges, boating breaks and savings on Easter, spring and summer breaks!
Don’t forget if you are registered with Wider Wallet you can access savings with leading high street offers and travel operators.
