RESOLVED: Issues with telephone calls to 0161 275 numbers

External callers dialling University numbers starting with 0161 275 were unable to get through if they were calling from a landline.

IT Services and the Telecoms team would like to thank staff and students for their patience while we worked with our suppliers to resolve the issue.

Update at 08:30 12/02/20

External callers dialling University numbers starting with 0161 275 are unable to get through if they are calling from a landline. Calls from mobile phones should now work.

This is not affecting internal calls, or calls to numbers starting with 0161 306. 

As a workaround you can call the University Switchboard – 0161 306 6000 – and ask to be put through.

The Telecoms office are working with our suppliers to resolve the issue as a matter of urgency.
