The Soul of the Black Earth - 60 years of Contemporary Chinese Printmaking
05 Feb 2020
New exhibition at Alliance Manchester Business School from 19 February until 13 March 2020
The Confucius Institute is delighted to bring this fascinating exhibition to Manchester, telling the story of four generations of printmakers from Heilongjiang Province in the north-east of China. Prints from this region are widely known as the Great Northern Wildness School, which is one of the most influential and characteristic schools in the Chinese art arena.
On Wednesday, 19 February at 4.30pm we will hold a public talk on contemporary Chinese printmaking prior to the exhibition launch at AMBS. Artist Dr Weimin He from Oxford, one of the artist printmakers featured in the exhibition, will share exciting insights into the printmaking process, its history and developments over time.
