Next steps to improve employee experience

A message from Karen Heaton, Director of Human Resources
Dear Colleague
People are by far our most important asset but some of the processes and tools we currently use as employees are not as effective or efficient as we want them to be. We have consolidated the University’s Employee Lifecycle Programme (ELP) to become part of the HR Services continuous improvement programme and are continuing to invest strategically to deliver simpler, faster and more joined up systems which will maximise the use of technology and enhance the employee experience.
Our current focus is targeted towards a number of service improvements relating to self-service functionality to the MyView system and online automation for processes including:
- Online expenses submissions and approvals
- Self-Service functionality for submission and processing of Leavers, Changes, Probation and Vacancy Management
- Online approval functionality for processes such as the PCM
The benefits of these improvements include:
- Removal of the many paper-based expense forms and receipts
- Removal of the paper based PCM form
- Ability to check progress by tracking requests online
- Accessible and user friendly processes
- Reduction in end to end delivery times
- Supporting the environment by reducing our use of paper
Over the coming weeks we will be asking line managers to validate the data we currently hold within our systems, to ensure a smooth transition to the new online expenses process.
Further details and instructions will be sent direct to line managers but if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Adele Ventre-Downey, Head of HR Services.
Best Wishes,
Karen Heaton
Director of Human Resources
