New peer support group for parents
17 Jan 2020
Parents are invited to join this newly-created group
The Parents at UoM Peer Support Group replaces the previous Peer Support Group for Staff Returning from Maternity, Paternity and Adoption Leave. We appreciate how parenting can be challenging, whatever the age of the child, so we have expanded the group to provide valuable support for all working parents at the University.
The group will meet every month and we also plan to host specialist guests throughout the year. We also has a new meeting location – from January 2020, the group will be meeting at the Milk and Honey cafe based at St Peter’s house (accessibility information). The team at Milk and Honey have allocated a table for the group and the first drink is free (you will need to collect a voucher from the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion representative on the table before placing your order). We aim to be as inclusive as possible – babies & children are very welcome!
Please note this peer support group requires sufficient numbers to run. If you would like to join the group and be notified of upcoming meet-ups and relevant information, please email equalityanddiversity@manchester.ac.uk. You can attend as many or as few meetings as you need.
If you would like to suggest recommendations on how you would like the group to better support you or any changes you would like to see (regardless of whether you have attended in the past or not) please contact Sarah Mohammad-Qureshi (s.mohammad-2@manchester.ac.uk).
