Transformational social enterprise idea wins £300 cash prize to help get their project off the ground
This year’s Masood Enterprise Centre Venture Out competition saw over 120 student ideas submitted for a new business, a social project, or the application of technology. Winners from each category received a £300 cash prize to help get their idea off the ground.
Enactus Manchester won the Social category for the second year running, with their project EmpowerMEal. This new social enterprise will work with marginalised women in Manchester to create and sell home-cooked, nutritious meals to students.
Enactus Manchester is a team of over 100 students who develop and volunteer on enterprising projects to help the community. They currently have projects looking to support young people at risk of homelessness, migrant parents and refugee women.
The team are supported by University Advisors from the Masood Enterprise Centre and the Volunteering and Community Engagement Team. Follow the team’s progress through their Facebook and Instagram accounts.
