Our Vision and Strategic Plan launches

Introduction to Our future by the President and Vice-Chancellor
Dear colleague
I am delighted to be writing to you today to present the launch of our new vision and strategic plan, which was shared at a meeting with our University’s leaders last week. Following this meeting, where our leaders were able to discuss the vision and strategic plan, I am now sharing it with you.
We have called this vision and strategic plan ‘Our future’, as it will take us into our third century.
Many of you (in all more than 4,000 colleagues, students, alumni and external stakeholders) were involved in creating our vision and strategic plan. Thank you again for all your contributions that have made this such a fascinating and important exercise. Your ideas and suggestions during that period and throughout the ongoing development of the vision and strategic plan have been a crucial part of us reaching the final version which we are revealing today.
Over the next few months we will be providing more detail on our plans for the themes and core goals. Many of you will be involved in the process of developing these and we will of course keep you updated.
I hope that you will recognise the core goals, themes, priorities and values that are important to you reflected in the document.
Please read the plan and reflect on what it might mean for your own priorities, those of your team, and the way you work with colleagues across and beyond our University. This might, for example, include thinking about your personal objectives or team plans, or your working arrangements and shared goals with other parts of our University.
We have published the strategic plan online and we have placed guidance documents, resources, and messages on StaffNet which you can use both internally and when engaging colleagues external to the University.
Everyone can, and I hope will, play their part in our University’s future.
Best wishes
Nancy
President and Vice-Chancellor
