Improving the candidate experience using Jobtrain
09 Dec 2019
From Monday, 16 December we will move to a new front-end portal to enhance the candidate experience
When you apply for a job at our University you’ll usually use JobTrain - our online recruitment software. From Monday, 16 December you’ll notice some changes to help improve the application experience.
The improvements have been made by colleagues in HR Services - working with Jobtrain - and the changes apply to both internal and external applicants.
In addition to giving our search page and list of current jobs an improved look and feel, candidates will now have the option to use the following:
- CV parsing - which means that information you provide in your CV is used to auto-populate sections of your application making the process quicker and simpler
- It’ll be easier to upload documents (such as CVs) from your device or cloud storage
- Mobile device optimisation so pages automatically adjust to be viewed on your smartphone or tablet
- Using your social media accounts to log-in to their account meaning fewer passwords to remember
- Recite Me assistive toolbar that enhances accessibility for candidates with disabilities
- Greater password complexity giving additional security
- GDPR tools which give you the power to personally delete applications or your entire profile if you choose.
While the portal will look different for both internal and external candidates, Jobtrain will remain the same so you don’t need to amend bookmarks.
The portal for hiring managers and selection panel members will be unaffected for now, but HR Services is continuing to work with Jobtrain to look at how we make improvements and will keep you informed of any further changes.
