Nancy meets with staff in monthly drop-in sessions
20 Nov 2019
Staff share their views and feedback on issues affecting the University and its staff
President and Vice-Chancellor Nancy Rothwell, has met with a small group of staff to answer questions, hear their ideas and discuss issues affecting our University and higher education more widely.
The session was an opportunity to meet with Nancy in small, informal groups held across campus. These are in addition to the regular School visits and open staff meetings which Nancy and the Senior Leadership Team already carry out.
The group discussed an array of topics including the University’s response to the climate crisis, specifically buildings and our estate, and how the University can encourage staff to take part in climate related activities, employability events for international students and international visiting academics, early career researchers and fixed term contracts, the student experience programme, the approach to awarding sabbaticals, and graduation gown hire costs.
The next session will take place on Thursday, 12 December at 2.30pm at Sackville Street Building and is open to any member of University staff.
The sessions are limited to 20 people. Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis so please book your place as soon as possible.
