Twin Peaks at Manchester Museum
31 Oct 2019
On Friday, 25 October Mandy Tootill performed her Twin Peaks show at Manchester Museum in aid of Prevent Breast Cancer.
The show was a complete sell out and success! Mandy took the audience through her own personal journey from finding a breast lump, to surgery, through chemo and beyond, leaving them laughing and crying throughout. There has been lots of positive feedback from audience members including:
“I really enjoyed the night and being a breast cancer survivor myself I could relate to a lot Mandy was saying. Thanks for organising.”
“Mandy was amazing tonight!! Thank you so much!!! We laughed till we cried!! Great night”
"If you get the chance to go and watch this show anywhere you just have to go I have laughed non stop from start to finish"
The success of the show was enabled by UoM and Museum volunteers, donations from Food on Campus, Venus Flowers, Jodrell Bank Visitors Centre, all the attendees who bought tickets and Mandy herself! Prevent Breast Cancer supported the evening and were there to share health guidance and for anyone who may have needed to talk after the event.
The Twin Peaks event raised over £1,300 for Prevent Breast Cancer, who are Manchester based, and help fund research including several leading academics at the University.
