How inclusive is our University?

Take the survey for Stonewall Workplace Equality Index and see if we can hit the Top 100 again
Every year the University submits to the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index, which measures how inclusive we are for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans (LGBT) colleagues.
We are proud to have been placed in the Top 100 Employers list for the last five years, and would like to make the list again in 2020.
A very important part of the process is gauging how LGBT and non-LGBT staff view the University and how inclusive we actually are. To do this we are asking people to complete the anonymous five-minute survey provided by Stonewall.
As this is worth 10% of our overall total, it’s really important that we have as much participation as possible.
As Stonewall puts it: “To assess the impact of organisational practice on LGBT inclusion in your workplace, Stonewall seeks feedback directly from your employees. In the survey we ask your employees questions around key indicators of inclusion in your workplace – examining both LGBT and non-LGBT employee experiences, opinions and attitudes.”
2019 is a huge year for Stonewall as it’s the 50th anniversary of the riots that kicked off the gay rights movement and from which the campaign group took their name. A BBC article explores the history of Stonewall and how it changed gay rights.
