Discovering Caribbean Family Memories, Part of the Being Human Festival
22 Oct 2019
10am, Saturday 16 November at Manchester Central Library
Manchester is home to a vibrant and diverse Caribbean community and during this workshop you can discover and become the keeper of your Caribbean family memories.
Family histories are not just personal histories, instead they have wider significance for our understanding of the places and communities in which we live. This event will question how the stories we tell, and the memories that we preserve from one generation to the next, have the power to change our way of seeing the past.
Drop in throughout the day with photos and objects that illuminate your family memories and learn how to start the journey of researching your family histories.
This event is suitable for all ages and it is not necessary to book, but please register your interest with the organiser Misha Ewen by emailing Misha.Ewen@manchester.ac.uk
This event is in partnership with the Ahmed Iqbal Ullah Race Relations Resource Centre.
