24 Sep 2019
UKRI have recently put out a new funding call for Enhancing place-based partnerships in public engagement to support capacity building in collaborative, place-based public engagement between research organisations, partner organisations and communities
Projects will plan, develop and test ways of working, co-created and in partnership with communities in their defined geography with the aim of embedding community and public engagement with research.

Internal Submission Process
Research organisations may only be the ‘lead organisation’ on one bid and a partner on one bid (i.e. a maximum of two bids in total), whether they are leading a separate bid or not. Because of this, an Internal Expressions of Interest submission led by Professor Nalin Thakkar, Vice-President for Social Responsibility, will make a recommendation to the Research Strategy Group to identify any bids that will be submitted to UKRI. The panel will review the Internal Expressions of Interest in line with the UKRI’s eligibility requirements, taking into account innovation, strength of community partnership, research quality, proposed matched funding and sustainability.
Timelines:
- 30 September, 5pm: Submission of internal expressions of interest form to engagement@manchester.ac.uk.
- 7 October: Notification to internal applicants on selected project(s) that will go forward as the UoM bids
- 20 October 2019, 5pm: Completed internal UoM Bid, including signed institutional letter of support
- 21 October 2019, 5pm: Submission of UoM Bid to UKRI
Please complete the application form.
