Using our University's Hospitality Services or approved suppliers
24 Sep 2019
A reminder that it is essential for staff to use our University’s Hospitality Services or approved suppliers in all instances on campus
The University arrangements chapter on Food Safety and Food Hygiene (part of the University’s Health and Safety Policy) sets the policy on and the standard expected for food safety and hygiene. It describes the roles and responsibilities of senior managers and staff involved in the procurement or provision of catering. It also includes a FAQs section.
In the first instance you should use our own Hospitality Services. Members of staff (individually or on behalf of their school or department) must not undertake any catering of their own or use unaudited suppliers, by doing so they will be putting themselves and the University at risk. All orders should be placed through the Oracle finance system and credit cards should not be used for purchasing catering for delivery on campus.
Our in house Hospitality Services teams can be contacted on:

Chancellors Collection
Taste Manchester or the Chancellors Collection are the only caterers permitted to deliver to centrally timetabled rooms that allow catering, including Whitworth Hall, the Whitworth Corridor, the Council Chamber and all bookable foyers.
If Taste Manchester or Chancellors Collection are not able to cater for your event or meeting, you should then revert to one of our approved suppliers who have all been through a strict audit process. These can be found on HE Contracts under Provision of Catering.
Any spend on delivered catering will be monitored on an ongoing basis.
Any queries please email Head of Hospitality and Events Alison Shedlock.
