Live stream: The global climate crisis with Professor Kevin Anderson

19 Sep 2019

Watch tomorrow Friday, 20 September on StaffNet

A global day of action is taking place this Friday, 20 September to highlight the climate emergency. The University recognises the significance of this issue and is grateful that Professor Kevin Anderson, chair of energy and climate change at the Tyndall Centre, will share the academic evidence behind the global climate crisis and its impact on city-regions like Greater Manchester.

Kevin will be presenting at 12pm then again at 1pm in Simon Lecture Theatre C. There will be opportunities to ask questions and to share your own thoughts on the issue.  All staff and students are invited to attend over their lunch break. As the event is on a first-come-first-serve basis, it will also be live streamed. To watch, simply visit the StaffNet homepage at 12pm or 1pm on Friday, 20 September, where a news article will be posted with a link to the YouTube stream.

  • Colleagues who want to take part in further events during their working hours will need to make arrangements with their line managers, either through using lunch breaks or taking annual or unpaid leave, and are asked to think carefully about the impact on the running of our University at a vital time of year, and the effect this would have on our students, colleagues and visitors
  • Colleagues who want to make an ongoing commitment to sustainability at the University are encouraged to sign up to our 10,000 Actions programme
