Find out which University Committee Meetings are attended by the Students' Union Exec Officers
In March each year the Students’ Union holds elections for students to vote for their eight elected Exec Officers.
These Exec Officers then sit on a variety of University Committee Meetings and Working Groups. You can download a list of all meetings and find out who from the SU is in attendance. The list also includes the details for each chair of the group.
The main roles of Exec Officers are:
- As elected representatives of students to fulfil their campaigning role and manifesto commitments to improve student life.
- To report on the progress of their work to the Students’ Union Senate and their work is scrutinised by dedicated committees for each Officer role.
- Trustees Board Members of the Students’ Union charity, members of Board Committees and Company Directors of the Students’ Union limited company in compliance with charity and company legal responsibilities.
- To represent the interests of students to the University via membership of a variety of University Committees and working groups. This includes the University Board of Governors, University Senate and General Assembly and monthly meetings with the University of Manchester Senior Leaders Team.
The Governance Coordinator of the Students’ Union acts as the point of contact for University staff members with a query on Students’ Union representation on University Committees and Exec Officers availability to attend meetings. Please use the following email address: exec.su@manchester.ac.uk.
