Become a Trustee for a local not-for-profit organisation
03 Sep 2019
Manchester Community Central (Macc) are hosting an event on Tuesday, 17 September to encourage people to find out more about becoming a trustee for local not-for-profit organisations
The event, Get on Board, is an informal get together from 5pm until 7pm between organisations looking for more trustees and those looking to find out more about becoming a trustee and what organisations they could support.
Trustees are the driving force behind many local charities across the city of Manchester, using their skills and qualities to lead great work that is changing lives, improving neighbourhoods and contributing positively to the places we all live and work.
Becoming a Trustee for a local organisation enables you to gain valuable experience and learn new skills within a leadership role.
Trusteeship is open to all ages, backgrounds and skills sets but does require commitment. If you have the passion and enthusiasm to support a local good cause, come along to the Get on Board event and learn more about what the role of a trustee involves.
At the event you can meet with representatives from local VCSE organisations, other prospective trustees along with staff from the Capacity Building and Volunteer Centre Manchester teams.
If you are a local (Manchester) not-for-profit group looking for Trustees, please get in touch with Cheryl McAlister to book a place at the event to network with potential future trustees.
How does it work?
With the main emphasis on the networking element of the evening - attendees will have the chance to have an informal chat with representatives from local VCSE organisations, other prospective trustees and staff from the Capacity Building and Volunteer Centre Manchester teams.
Light refreshments will be provided.
