New furniture supplier, The Senator Group, join the University

They are to be used when our furniture disposal and re-use store cannot help
Following an extensive procurement process, the University has appointed a new sole supplier for office furniture, The Senator Group.
Furniture 4 Reuse, the University’s own furniture disposal and re-use/recycling store, should always be approached with your new furniture or existing furniture refurbishment requirements. If Furniture 4 Reuse aren’t able to meet your requirements, contact Senator by emailing our Key Account Manager, Michael Higham or phoning him on 07469 155906.
As our sole supplier, Senator can be contacted whether you require a single piece of furniture or need an entire area fitted, and you don’t have to obtain multiple quotes or conduct a tender process. If possible, try to make Senator aware of your needs as early as you can.
As Senator are now the sole supplier for furniture to the University, this is the only route to market and no other suppliers should be used to buy furniture.
Advantages of using Senator, if Furniture 4 Reuse can’t help
- Key Account Manager – Michael Higham is based here on campus
- Agreed terms and conditions – you don’t have to worry about signing up to a different supplier’s contract, potentially putting the University at risk
- Environmental benefits – Senator are based in Accrington, Lancashire, which reduces the amount of distance furniture has to travel. Consolidating orders also means fewer deliveries, resulting in fewer vehicles on campus and a reduction in CO2 emissions
- Local supplier – as well as supporting a local business, the Accrington location means we have the opportunity to visit the showroom if necessary
- Remanufacturing options – Senator can advise on whether existing furniture can be made ‘as good as new’ by replacing broken or worn components
A standard catalogue of Senator items will be available to browse on eMarketplace shortly. In the meantime, please discuss your requirements with Senator using the details above.
Please direct any internal queries to Charlotte Hardman in Procurement.
