MCR Strollers visit a local Chinese wellbeing centre

The Sheung Lok Centre in Ardwick, is a Chinese wellbeing centre that is part of the Wai Yin Society.

The MCRStrollers visited their garden which is tended by volunteers and grows Chinese marrows, strawberries and spring onions and much more. These fresh vegetables are used by the Centre to serve lunch for the elderly in the community. The elderly Chinese come here to practice Tai Chi, table tennis, dance and the most popular activity is karaoke on Mondays, according to Stella Chu, the centre manager!  They have also supported some of our students with their wellbeing.

The Strollers were invited to join the centre for a Chinese lunch and met the eldest member a 97-year old lady whose children and grandchildren have all studied at the University. The Centre is located 5 minutes away from the University next to Upper Brook Street.
