Accounting and Finance Inaugural Lectures
20 Jun 2019
Newly promoted professors share their latest research findings
Alliance Manchester Business School's Accounting and Finance division will be hosting a series of lectures on Wednesday, 26 June as part of a cross-school AMBS inaugural lecture series this summer.
The lectures provide an opportunity for new or recently promoted professors to celebrate their achievements, and present an overview of their own contribution to their field of cutting-edge research and highlight the latest developments in a particular discipline. The Accounting and Finance lectures will be delivered by three Professors of Finance within the division – Viet Dang, Maria Marchica, and Roberto Mura.
Professor Dang will provide an overview of the link between a firm’s workforce and its financial decisions, and his talk will summarise the main findings from recent research on this topic and discuss their practical implications.
Professor Marchica will share her latest research findings on credit and law, discussing the importance of bankruptcy and collateral regimes and the importance of collaterals as a means to not only access credit but also achieve more credit democratisation.
Professor Mura will present his latest research findings on the links between ownership and investment. The talk will include an overview of the existing literature on the topic and discuss the importance of well-functioning equity and debt markets to foster company investment and spur economic growth.
