Update on our charity donation to the Big Change

How is our Staff Survey 2019 donation helping the Big Change?

Update on our charity donation to the Big Change

Earlier this year, as part of the Staff Survey 2019, you chose three local charities to benefit from our £1 donation per survey completed. Here’s how our donations have impacted local homeless people.

Our donation of £4,426 to The Big Change will help rough sleepers across our local area. The help they receive is dependent on their individual needs, and where they are along their journey to escape the streets.

The first contact begins with one of the volunteers first trying to give the individual their dignity back by supplying them with everyday essentials like clean towels, sanitary products or a toothbrush. Once a person has been helped to find a safe place to sleep, The Big Change will then typically try to coordinate the efforts of numerous charities to help them build a life beyond the streets. This includes funding them with things like the deposit for safe accommodation, the clothes and travel required for an interview, and the means to cook and clean for themselves.  To sustain this new life, they may be supported with educational courses, apprenticeships and the supplies for hobbies like drawing and painting.

Inspired to get involved?

The Big Change always appreciates the help and support of local people. If you can help in any of the following ways, please contact them:

  • Share your skills with those who need them most, this could be by helping with administration tasks, DIY or mentoring
  • Toiletries, clothes and food and drink are always required
  • Big or small, every donation helps
