10 Jun 2019

The first VR and AR innovation community meeting at the University

The Research Lifecycle Programme (RLP) would like to invite current users and interested researchers to a lunch meeting to discuss the use of virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) in research across the University.

The idea of this community is to share experiences and common interests and discuss ways in which we can work together to better use available resources and generate a community that can collaborate internally and apply for research funding collectively.

The RLP team have set up a forum on Slido for ideas to make the community thrive and any questions. If you are interested in the topic of VR/AR, we encourage you to get involved in the discussion, even if you can’t physically attend. The purpose of this is so that discussions and ideas on the way forwards are driven by the community.

Simply visit Sli.do and type in #VRAR in the event code to join the discussion.
Posts can be left anonymously or with your name.

As part of the event, there will be people from the research community speaking about how they have used VR/AR in their research on topics such as pre-operation anxiety, musical performance and higher education, just to name a few.

The meeting will take place on Monday 17 June at 11:30am and there are a limited number of spaces left.
