University colleagues embrace Key Travel

New travel management partner success

Key Travel

Since the introduction of Key Travel, the University travel management system, in December 2018 colleagues from across the University have used the system to book travel and accommodation – leading to savings in the region of £225,000*.

A key contributor to these savings is University colleagues booking in advance and online (89% of all bookings were made online). Key Travel also fulfilled 10 price match requests.

Mark Gilmore, Finance Operations Manager, said: “Thank you to all involved in the travel booking process for embracing the new Key Travel system.  It has been a great success with more travel booked on the system than initially anticipated. 

We know that the introduction of the new travel system has not been without issue and we continue to work with Key Travel to address any concerns. Updates include: 

  • More Key Travel staff available to manage both email and telephone enquiries
  • Introduction of Enterprise car hire – available for overseas trips only"
