Consultation on the future of the Paterson building site at The Christie, to be redeveloped following last year’s fire
In 2018, The Christie, The University of Manchester and Cancer Research UK, announced plans for the future of the Paterson building site at The Christie on Wilmslow Road following a fire in April 2017.
The multi-million pound development will be led by The Christie on behalf of the Manchester Cancer Research Centre (MCRC), an internationally renowned and hugely successful decade-long partnership between The Christie, The University of Manchester and Cancer Research UK.
The ambition for the Paterson Redevelopment Project is to create a purpose-built state-of-the-art home for cancer research in Manchester, which will allow us to become one of the world's top five cancer research centres.
The ambition for the new cancer research centre is contained with a document called the Strategic Planning Framework (SPF) Addendum.
The Christie undertook an informal consultation with the local community on the draft SPF Addendum in January 2019. Manchester City Council is now consulting on the document until Thursday, 16 May.
