Manchester Museum After Hours celebrates Chinese New Year

In anticipation of the opening of Manchester Museum's Chinese Culture Gallery in 2021, we’ll be welcoming in the Chinese year of the pig with an evening of culture, music, and film from one of the world’s fastest changing countries

On Thursday, 7 February, we will be joined by the Ying Hua Choir from Xin Hua Chinese Association who will be performing on the night (6.30pm and 7.30pm).

There will be a chance to take part in a Chinese tea ceremony and a decorative knot making workshop with the Confucius Institute.

You will be able to get up close with objects from the Museum's China collection and speak to curators developing the new gallery.

We'll also have a collection of pig-related objects from across the collection to celebrate the coming of the year of the pig.

We will also be screening the critically acclaimed film Youth - free tickets are available

This event is aimed at adults and is free to drop-in.
