SoSS colleague receives Honorary Doctorate from a university in Sweden

Professor Alan Warde recognised.

Congratulations to Alan Warde, Professor of Sociology in the School of Social Sciences, who has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Alan received the award in January. He said: “I am very pleased to be awarded an honorary degree for my work in the sociology of food and eating at a grand European university where I served for three years as Guest Professor in the Department of Food Studies, Nutrition and Dietetics.'

Alan has also held visiting positions in Adelaide, Mannheim, Sao Paolo, Paris and New York.
