Make your thoughts count: Staff Survey 2019 is coming!

18 Feb 2019

The Staff Survey arrives on Monday, 4 March 2019

We guarantee your anonymity

With just two weeks to go until the Staff Survey 2019 returns, we’re striving to ensure that more staff than ever before complete the survey.

Our last Staff Survey, in 2017, resulted in actions being taken right across campus to improve your working experience. These include:

Win a holiday!

Not only will your opinions help us to inform the actions we take in future, but for each completed survey we’re going to donate £1 to your chosen charities – Big Change Campaign, LINK Good Neighbours (Trinity House) and City of Trees. What’s more we’ll double this amount if we receive over 8,000 survey responses.

In addition to our charitable donation, we’re rewarding our valued employees with the chance to win £250 of vouchers for a mini break. We’ll release more details on this shortly.

Your anonymity

The survey is outsourced to an external body, Capita, who handle your answers confidentially. You’ll be asked your opinion on things like the standard of learning and development opportunities available to you, and the demands of your workload. The survey also asks for various personal details such as your gender and sexual orientation. There is the option to omit these questions, however if you choose to (anonymously) answer them, you can help us to identify whether our practices inadvertently result in discrimination against people from different equality groups. Once any issues have been identified, we can address them and ensure our workplace continues to be inclusive.

Remind your fellow colleagues to complete the survey. It’s an opportunity for you to share your opinions on your experience working at the University, and for the leadership team to use this feedback to inform future actions.

Your thoughts count!

Staff Survey 2019 launches on Monday, 4 March and runs until Monday, 8 April.

You will receive an email or, if you don’t work at a computer, be given the chance to fill in the Staff Survey form. It only takes around 15 minutes to complete, and you can be sure that all the information you supply will be anonymous and treated in strictest confidence. This is because the Staff Survey 2019 is being administered on the University’s behalf by an external company, Capita.

The survey results will be published in June.
