It’s your thoughts that count: Staff Survey 2019 is coming soon!
01 Feb 2019
The Staff Survey returns on Monday, 4 March 2019
From the comfort of your surroundings, to the pay and benefits offered, your experience of working for The University of Manchester is dependent on a number of factors. By completing the Staff Survey, you give us a clear picture of what it’s like to work here, and where and how improvements can be made. The good, the bad, and the personal, your answers are invaluable, yet as always, completely confidential.
Help us create an inclusive workplace
The survey asks for a few personal details, including your gender, religion and sexual orientation. You are of course free to omit this information, however by including it, you can help us to identify whether our practices result in variances in opportunities and outcomes for people from different equality groups. Once any issues have been identified, we can address them by shaping our policies to create an inclusive workplace that works for everyone.
We’ve taken action
As we navigate uncertainties in our external environment, now, more than ever, we want to understand your concerns and fears, and identify solutions together. As a result of the last Staff Survey, in 2017, we are working hard to continue to tackle internal issues for staff, such as launching Speak Up! Stand Up! The campaign empowers staff and students to take action against harassment, hate crime and sexual violence. It’s issues like this that we’ve only been able to truly understand with the help of your honest responses in previous surveys.
We’re giving away a holiday and donating to charity
As a thank you for completing the survey, we want to reward our staff as well as the local community. Each week during the 5-week duration of the survey, two people will be randomly chosen to win a £250 voucher towards a mini break of their choice. Look out for more information on this when the survey opens.
What’s more, for every survey submitted, we’ll donate £1 to the local charity of your choice. If we receive over 7,500 survey responses, we’ll gladly double this amount. You’ll have your chance to vote for three charities from a shortlist next week.
Your thoughts count!
Staff Survey 2019 launches on Monday, 4 March and runs until Monday, 8 April.
You will receive an email or, if you don’t work at a computer, be given the chance to fill in the Staff Survey form. It only takes around 15 minutes to complete, and you can be sure that all the information you supply will be anonymous and treated in strictest confidence. This is because the Staff Survey 2019 is being administered on the University’s behalf by an external company, Capita.
The survey results will be published in June.
