Faculty of Humanities DoFO introduces team brief video

Written monthly updates now recorded – action from Staff Survey 2017

PS staff in Humanities now receive their monthly update from the Director of Faculty Operations (DoFO), Vikki Goddard, by video, leading to greater engagement.

The paper-based update, which was read out by managers at team meetings, gave a limited scope for updates, news and successes to be shared effectively across all PS teams. In video format, staff are able to see Vikki talk about key updates which can be supported by photographs, infographics and short clips of events, along with details on where people can get further information.

To encourage greater engagement, each month Vikki records her update from a different Humanities location, with teams participating in the video to share their own news. Along with the DoFO’s update, the video features an interview with staff talking about key areas of work that either impact on, or are of interest to, PS teams. There is also a ‘90 seconds with…’ feature, which raises the profile of individual teams and projects.

Once the video has been shared with all PS staff, it is then included on Humanities StaffNet, making it available to all colleagues across the Faculty.
