Third Floor Systems, whose StudentCRT system helps identify students needing mental health support, hear result at Buckingham Palace today (Thursday, 8 November)
University start-up Third Floor Systems has reached the final of the Pitch@Palace competition, to be held at Buckingham Palace today.
Third Floor Systems, supported by UMIP, makes a staff-facing system for universities called StudentCRT, which aims to identify students that may be struggling with their mental health so that they can receive support faster.
The system has been used in the School of Physics and Astronomy for two years and MACE since January this year.
The effect on student support has been profound and it's going to be rolled out across other schools as Third Floor Systems was set up to distribute it more widely.
Pitch@Palace was founded by The Duke of York in 2014 as a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of Entrepreneurs. Pitch@Palace 10.0 returns to a broad technology theme showcasing companies that have developed innovative technologies across a wide range of areas including Biotech and Medical Technology, Consumer Technology and Internet of Things, Industrial Technology and AI and Robotics.
Dr Andrew Markwick, lecturer and founder of Third Floor Systems said: “We wanted to be sure we were doing the best we could to protect our students using the information we collect about them anyway, that’s why we created StudentCRT.”
