Managers’ Essentials update

Earlier this year we launched our Managers’ Essentials toolkit, a website full of practical resources for managers in order to enable them to manage everyday people situations consistently and easily
You can find over 65 ‘how to’ guides, short videos, frequently asked questions and guidance on implementing people policy.
Since the launch we have continued to develop the resources available. There’s new ‘how to’ guidance, online learning for managers whose staff are going on or returning from maternity leave, and online learning to help managers put policy into practice.
Later on this year we will be launching the Managers’ Essentials podcast series with interviews with staff from across the university, exploring a range of topics that we hope will be of interest to people managers across the business.
To continue to support our managers in managing the essentials, we are pleased to add these new workshops to our learning and development calendar:
- Managing Flexible Working Workshop
- Social Media - a workshop on managing risks and employment law and another for managers who want to use it in their leadership role
- Wellbeing for People Managers – what you need to know about managing wellbeing, and having wellbeing conversations
