University Scheme awards 300th Teaching Fellowship

24 Sep 2018

Join over 300 colleagues in achieving a Higher Education Academy Teaching Fellowship

The University’s Leadership in Education Awards Programme (LEAP) has awarded over 300 Advance HE (formally the Higher Education Academy) Fellowships to colleagues across the University, celebrating our commitment to enhancing the student experience and delivering excellence in teaching and learning at all levels.

Since the programme launch in January 2016, colleagues across the institution have been evidencing their teaching and learning excellence enabling them to receive a formal national teaching award.

Professor Judy Williams, University Academic Lead for LEAP explains, “LEAP is a fantastic way for colleagues to reflect on their teaching and the support they provide for students and gain a nationally recognised award. It has also enabled people to share best practice and make connections across the University.”

The LEAP is accredited by AdvanceHE to award Associate, Fellowship, Senior and Principal HEA Fellowships and is open to all staff, ranging from colleagues for whom teaching and learning forms part of their role to colleagues who are influencing teaching and learning at an institutional, national or international context.

“The LEAP is set up to make the application process as straightforward as possible and to enable you to succeed in achieving national recognition for your practice as an educator. The programme also provides an opportunity for you to evidence your development and the impact that you are making and to be challenged to further develop your practice” adds Dr Jamie Sergeant SFHEA, Senior Fellowship pathway participant.

The LEAP programme runs twice per year and we are currently accepting applications for the next cohort.
